ISP SEARCH ENGINE CLAIMED AS WORLD FIRST

By CBR Staff Writer

A database of 3,200 internet service providers could take the pain out of comparing different access plans, the host company has claimed. ISPcheck launched on Thursday with an estimated 8,000 service packages divided into three categories: basic net access, web hosting and colocation or dedicated server provision. Each category includes a search engine, and to make the prospective subscribers’ life easier still, results are returned in the form of a chart. No word on how ISPcheck plans to profit from the service, though ad space on a site catering exclusively to intending buyers could presumably command a premium.
