The deals are with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, NHS Lothian, St Mary’s NHS Trust at Paddington and Salford Royal Hospitals NHS Trust. All four have agreed three-year contract extensions with iSoft.
St Mary’s pathology systems manager Edwin Turner commented, Our pathology system is business critical to the trust and the 24/7 support from iSoft and reliable processing is crucial in providing acute care to patients.
iSoft has 150 laboratory information systems (LIS) customers in the UK, giving it a 65% share of the UK market. There are a further 350 LIS customers in Germany, and, in September, the company launched its laboratory application in New Zealand.
In a separate deal, St Mary’s has agreed a GBP750,000 contract to use iSoft’s patient administration system and disaster recovery services until 2008.
