It’s smiles all the way for anyone involved in either Integrated Services Digital Network or Value Added Telecommunications networks if two reports from Frost & Sullivan Inc are to be believed: one of these, The US Market for ISDN Customer Premises predicts that the 1991 $769.8m market for customer premises equipment to access and use ISDN will grow to $2,590m in 1995; the report also finds that the balance of applications will shift – currently the largest product category was found to be ISDN PABXs, which had a market value of $312.5m in 1990, but growth in this area is not predicted to be great, with the figure rising to $368.3m in 1995; Frost sees a great future in store for videoconferencing systems, however – these had a market value of just $31.8m in 1990, but according to the research this figure will rise to $404.2m in 1995.
