IS USH ABOUT TO BUY AS YET UNNAMED HIGH-TECH BUSINESS?

The bustle in United Scientific Holdings’ shares, up 20 pence last week and firm at 262 pence yesterday, has been caused by the firm belief that the company is about to announce acquisition of a third string to its bow in the form of an unidentified high-tech business to put alongside its Alvis tanks and its electro-optics business: the price is underpinned by the fact that Boeing Co has named the company an approved supplier of electro-optic systems and equipment.
