IS CA CONSIDERING COMPUWARE ACQUISITION?

By CBR Staff Writer

Our sister publication ClieNT server News has been hearing whispers of Computer Associates International Inc possibly being after CompuWare Corp, the mainframe tools and systems management house which did $614m in its last financial year. We thought we’d throw it in for good measure, after all CSN was right about CA and Cheyenne Software Inc (CI No 2,881). The deal, if there is one, would have to be for stock cause CompuWare is awfully expensive; it carries a market capitalization of nearly $2.5bn – its share price is up around $61. A deal might move CA out of Wall Street’s dog house, the paper thinks.
