Google has placed its Google Glass wearable technology device on sale in the US indefinitely – but hinted that it might not be around for long.

Unlike last time around, when the device was only available for one day, Google will now let any US-based buyer purchase a pair of the augmented reality glasses for $1,500.

Google is referring to the sale as the ‘Explorer Program‘, suitable for developers who want to test out the capabilities of Google Glass.

Google said: "We’re still in the Explorer Program while we continue to improve our hardware and software, but starting today anyone in the US can buy the Glass Explorer Edition."

However, one last comment from Google alluded to production for Google Glass possibly coming to an end.

The web giant stated it would remain on sale for "as long as we have it around".
