Lexington, Massachusetts-based Ipswitch Inc has introduced CyberSuite 1.0, an integrated suite of Windows95, Windows NT and Windows 3.X Internet applications that provides Internet access for remote office workers, home business and home computer users. Whereas most Internet applications have been a grab bag of shareware or commercial applications, each with its own interfaces, said the company, its applications are united in an intuitive and consistent front end. Included in the package are Telnet with VT320 emulation for entering data into corporate databases; WFTP File Transfer; IMail Client for Windows electronic mail, which supports both SMTP and POP3 protocols, and can retrieve mail from any POP3 server; INews network news reader, said to include an automated searching capability; and Ipswitch IMosaic, the company’s Internet Web browser. Ipswitch claims that CyberSuite can be used in conjunction with any TCP/IP protocol stack that includes a Windows Sockets Dynamic Link Library, and adds that Windows95 or Windows NT users may use the TCP/IP stack that comes with the operating system. The offering also includes Ipswitch’s VxD-based TCP/IP stack with remote dial-up access to the Internet for corporate local area networks with Seriel Line Internet Protocol, SLIP, or Point-to-Point Protocol. CyberSuite will ship from this month, priced at $100 for a single user; volume, site licence and OEM terms are also available.
