IPG GETS INTO ONLINE SERVICES; BUILDS INT’L PR GROUP

By CBR Staff Writer

Reading between the lines it appears that multinational conglomerate Interpublic Group is going to try to build an international public relations group that can mirror its $10bn advertising agency McCann-Erickson’s global reach. It already owns high-tech PR outfits The Weber Group and Technology Solutions Inc and has also decided to get itself into web and net services via its venture called Thunder House Online Marketing Communication, which will reportedly kick-off with $17m billing from clients such as Black & Decker, General Motors and L’Oreal as clients, making it the third largest outfit of its kind. Supposedly Thunder will be a full-service agency doing creative and media services strategy development plus internet and intranet architecture production and technology integration.
