iPass, a provider of enterprise mobility services, has announced that its iPassConnect mobility manager software will be generally available for the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system by December and is immediately available for Apple’s Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system.

As the user interface to the iPass Mobile Office service, the iPassConnect mobility manager provides connection across the virtual network of 3G mobile broadband, over 140,000 Wi-Fi and ethernet locations and a dial-up covering over 175 countries, the company said.

In addition, the iPass offering also provides mobility management capabilities to enable IT administrators to configure and administer policies and to have visibility into valuable data related to mobile connectivity, usage and device status.

Steven Wastie, senior vice president of marketing at iPass, said: iPass is committed to providing the best connectivity experience for enterprise users, independent of the device and operating system they use. iPass allows IT managers to provision, deliver and manage a single, unified connection experience to their users over multiple access technologies and device types around the world.

The iPassConnect software is available for Windows Vista, XP and 2000; Max OS X 10.4 and 10.5; Nokia S60 Third Generation devices; BlackBerry smartphones, Windows Mobile 5, 6 and 6.1; and the iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPod touch.
