IONA HIRES MARKETING MAN TO BUILD A BRAND

By CBR Staff Writer

Iona Technologies Ltd’s gone out and hired itself the man who made Baileys a top tot and made Ireland leading tourist spot; Noel Toolan joins as VP corporate marketing to give Iona a brand just like a soap powder, the company says. Toolan joins from the Irish Tourist Board where he developed the project which resulted in Ireland becoming the first country to be marketed and promoted globally as a single brand. He left because incoming ministers ordered the return of the shamrock to the campaign which Toolan was instrumental in removing from the project material.
