Iona adds product development experience

Iona Technologies appointed Stephanos Bacon to the role of VP product development, saying he will be in charge of both the company's Artix Extensible Service Bus product and its Orbix Corba-based integration technology.

By CBR Staff Writer

Iona said Bacon brings over 20 years of experience to the role, having held senior product engineering positions and managed distributed engineering teams with companies including Avaki, Broadvision, Object Design (bought by Progress) and Bachman Information Systems (merged with Cadre to form Cayenne Software in July 1996, Cayenne subsequently acquired by Sterling Software, which was itself later acquired by Computer Associates).

Iona said Bacon delivers innovative new products on time and with consistently high quality. Most recently he was VP engineering for Avaki, a provider of so-called enterprise information integration products.
