Bernoulli drive pioneer Iomega Corp, Roy, Utah, has been transformed by its high-capacity Zip and Jaz exchangeable cartridge drives, and Ditto tape, which fueled the company’s first quarter revenue to $222m, compared with just $40m a year ago, and its shares have fully reflected its new-found prosperity, rising to $51.875 this week compared with an equivalent $3.33 a year ago – it split three-for-one in January – and less than a dollar in 1994; they are happy about a local boy finally made good in Roy, 30 miles north of Salt Lake City, too, since Iomega has increased employment to 2,000 from 800 since 1994.
