IOMEGA SAYS SHIPMENTS OF ZIP DRIVES HAVE HIT 6 MILLION

Iomega Corp, in announcing that Sony Information Technologies of America Inc will include the Zip drive as a standard feature in its new PCV-130 and PCV-150 computers, says global shipments of the product reached the six million mark during May. The product was introduced in March 1995 (CI No 2,652) as the proposed successor to the floppy disk and currently sells in the US for about $150.
