Iomega Corp has doubled capacity of its hard-shell floppy drives with the 44Mb Bernoulli Box II/4, which uses a Barium Ferrite medium to offer twice the capacity of the Roy, Utah company’s standard Bernoulli boxes and much faster access time. A disk caching process keeps most recently accessed data in high-speed memory, giving average access time of 32mS. It comes in single and dual internal and external MS-DOS, OS/2 and Mac versions from the first quarter 1989, at $1,400 for single drive internal to $3,000 for dual drive external for Macintosh.
