Business and financial software company Intuit has reported net revenues of $878m for the second quarter of fiscal year 2011, an increase of 5% as compared to $837m of the year-ago quarter.

Revenue from product grew marginally by 2% to $430m, compared to $422m, and service and other revenue increased by 8% to $448m, compared to $415m of Q2 FY10.

For the second quarter ended 31 January 2011, the company registered an operating income of $111m as compared to an operating income of $139m of the same period last year.

Intuit posted a net income of $73m and $0.23 per diluted share, compared to a net income of $114m and $0.36 per diluted share in the second quarter of fiscal year 2010.

For the third quarter of fiscal 2011, the company is expecting net revenue to be between $1.76bn and $1.83bn.
