Intraware Inc has acquired two of its rivals in the business-to-business technology market: BITSource and Internet Image. BITSource develops online purchasing and licensing solutions, including web-based volume licensing, while Internet Image boasts net-based application deployment and management (ADM) technology. Between them, the two acquisitions should add electronic volume licensing (EVL), electronic license delivery (ELD) and ADM to the services that Intraware can offer. The company will pay $11m in cash and stock for BITSource; that transaction will be accounted for as a purchase. As for Internet Image, Intraware intends to pay $37m in stock for the company and to account for the transaction as a pooling-of-interests. The entire $48m purchase is a drop in the ocean to Orinda, California-based Intraware. After posting a strong quarter, the company boasts a market capitalization of nearly $600m.
