Online video company InterVu Inc has signed a licensing agreement with RealNetworks Inc under which InterVu will integrate the RealMedia streaming video and audio systems RealVideo and RealAudio, into its eyeQ multimedia manager. It will also support the latest version of RealMedia video and audio via its InterVu Network. InterVu says the agreement is in line with its stated goals of supporting the widest possible range of internet media players, to enable its advertising and web site content customers to view rich media content transparently over the Internet. The InterVu Network is a collection of distributed servers, or Delivery Centers spread across nine internet service providers, to optimize video file availability and performance. The intelligent network determines which server is closest to the end user to enable the video to be downloaded from that nearest server.
