INTERPHASE HAS OEM CONTRACT FROM SIEMENS

By CBR Staff Writer

Interphase Corp, manufacturing disk, tape and communications controllers in Dallas, Texas, has an OEM contract from Siemens AG worth over $7.5m over two years for Storager multifunction disk-tape controllers for use in a variety of high-performance and mid-range systems using Siemens Megafile 5.25 300Mb ESDI disk drives; the contract also includes the 2190 Multibus SMD disk controller, which the company claims was the first to combine control for ST506 and ESDI disk drives, floppy disk and tape drives in one unit, and dhe first controller to provide a multitasking virtual buffering firmware architecture, concurrent look-ahead caching, and zero latency working.
