The China Daily has quoted government sources as saying internet fees are definitely going to be reduced, with the cuts being greatest for institutional users. The high cost of using the internet in China has been the main barrier to subscriber growth, with a recent survey showing users in Beijing are spending 34.8% of their monthly salaries on internet fees, a sharp comparison with the 1% average for users in the US. á
