Intermetrics Inc, Cambridge, Massachusetts has completed the previously announced acquisition of privately-held Whitesmiths Ltd (CI No 1,031). Whitesmiths, in Westford, Massachusetts develops compilers and operating systems, notably the Idris real time Unixalike, and markets them worldwide. It had $2.5m slaes last year, and the acquisition is for an undisclosed amount in cash and notes. Intermetrics designs and markets systems engineering and software services and development tools for real time signal processing, navigation, avionics, and communications applications.
