Intermec has introduced the PB22 and PB32 rugged mobile two and three inch label printers, which reportedly deliver enhanced time-to-first-label, increasing customer productivity. The company also released an enhanced version of the PB50 rugged mobile four inch label printer, including a label self strip feature and media holder.

The new printers is said to support the company’s Smart Printing, enabling businesses to lower total cost of ownership by hosting user-defined label applications on the printer without the use of a computer. In addition to delivering up to three times faster time-to-first-label because of large memory, the new products offer mobile transaction security with support of wireless security standards WPA/WPA2, IEEE 802.11x and Cisco Certified Extensions (CCX), the company noted.

The printers’ integration and operation with the company’s CK3 rugged mobile computer and media enables retailers to adapt from applications such as shelf re-labeling and pricing to line-busting, improving inventory management and customer experiences, the company said.

Earl Thompson, senior vice president and general manager of mobile solutions business unit at Intermec, said: “In less than two months Intermec has announced seven new mobile products that are energising our partner community as we jointly drive the industry forward and impact our customers’ top and bottom lines. Intermec is uniquely positioned to help businesses achieve a timely and solid ROI, maintain competitive advantage, and be more operationally efficient during and past these challenging economic times.”

The company has recently added three ‘rugged’ mobile-receipt and invoice printers to its PB product family – the PB21, PB31 and PB51. The new printers reportedly feature more memory and print faster.

Through the new offerings, the PB family is said to enable user-defined receipt and invoice applications, to be hosted on the printer for stand-alone use. The company noted that for in-premise or field mobility applications where a host computer is used, the PB printers offer Bluetooth or 801.11b/g wireless connectivity as well as serial and USB wired connectivity.
