The 50 partners were said to have received the authorization only after completing extensive RFID training and testing from Intermec.
The training involved the completion of three in-depth workshops focusing on installing RFID solutions and RFID software development. According to Intermec, these courses provided qualified engineers with extensive knowledge of developing scaleable RFID solutions, from surveying to installation.

Only companies which have achieved certification are authorized to sell Intermec’s RFID products. Among UK authorized resellers are Agility Systems, Blackroc Technology, Indigo and Microlise, while IBM and Zetes have both received EMEA-wide accreditation.
