With the specter of high-performance Silicon Graphics Inc WinTel workstations looming in its rear view, it’s little wonder that Intergraph Corp is hot-rodding its TDZ 3D Windows NT workstations as well as offering cut-price 2D options. The TDZ 2000 with a new Realizm II VX113 graphics accelerator achieves a performance of 108 using the CDRS benchmark. Intergraph has also cut the price of the line to $4,840 by offering new models with 2D Matrox Millennium II AGP graphics. The company claims the new systems outperform other NT boxes, including HP’s high-flying Kayak XW, as well as SGI’s Octane R10000 Unix box on the graphics benchmark. All TDZ models come with one or two 300MHz or 333MHz Pentium II processors.
