Interface Masters launches Quad Segment 10 Gb Link Aggregation TAP

Consists of Quad Link Aggregation TAP segments which possess full 10 Gb monitoring capabilities

Interface Masters Technologies, a provider of networking offerings, has introduced a new member of its 10 Gigabit (10Gb) product family – Niagara 3218 – which is designed to integrate with network monitoring appliances, analytics, probes and logging tools, intrusion detection systems and central office applications.

According to the company, the new product consists of Quad Link Aggregation TAP segments which possess full 10 Gigabit and 1 Gigabit monitoring capabilities.

Each segment can support multiple TAP methodologies as well as Multi-Mode fiber (SR) and Single-Mode fiber (LR) media configuration for 10Gb speeds and Multi Mode fiber (SX), Single Mode fiber (LX) and Copper (TX) for 1Gb speeds.

The company said the system is built with eight additional link aggregation TAP ports for networking monitoring and mirroring of any port, and is designed for flexibility enabling various modes including packet injection, aggregation, and multiple port monitoring.

The Niagara 3218 supports a full suite of secure management which includes industry-standard management and logging tools, the company said.

According to Interface Masters Technologies, the Niagara 3218 provides features that are essential to data-centres including Quad Segments of Link Aggregation TAP; 8 Additional Link Aggregation Ports for flexible network monitoring; and Split TAP and Link aggregation TAP support

It also provides Packet Injection capabilities; Many-to-one TAP support; One-to-Many TAP support; Internal redundant power supplies for maximum reliability; Dedicated Management Port and Console Port; Full RoHS compliance; and UL, CE and FCC certifications.

In addition, the new offering also provides flexible and intuitive CLI and GUI management features including secure shell (SSH), secure web UI via an HTTPS connection, SNMP, e-mail notification for special events, and TAP method configuration.
