The US House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill intended to put dial-a-porn merchants out of business by banning of obscene or indecent speech over the phone: the Senate is expected to pass it too, but it is certain to be challenged in court under the First Amendment and its effect may be limited to calls made interstate (CI No 910).
