Intentia International AB, the Swedish enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management developer, has announced intelligent agent software it claims will take corporate procurement to a new level of automation. The Movex Intelligent Agent, said Intentia managing director of research and development, Johan Berg is a huge step towards automating the enterprise procurement process by enabling software agents to find and negotiate deals instead of having personnel do it.
Movex Intelligent Agent joins the growing portfolio of generic functions available to users of the repository-enabled Movex ERP and CRM suites. The company expects it to be applied to a number of interactive tasks, including trend tracking and intra and inter-application negotiations. Ultimately, claims Berg, the agent software will enable companies to dispose of unwanted stock using an automated auction process, admitting customers agents to their stock systems to make bids for the products or materials listed.
The intelligent agent technology is also being positioned as a sophisticated customer behaviour charting mechanism. As ComputerWire went to press, Intentia was unable to supply availability or pricing details.
