INTEL’s NESTOR-CONCEIVED NEURAL CHIP SET FOR MARKET

Providence, Rhode Island neural network specialist Nestor Inc now has agreement with Intel Corp for marketing of their jointly-developed Ni1000 neural network processor. The part integrates 1,024 artificial neurons, and is claimed to replicate pattern-recognition capabilities of the brain, enabling the development of computers that can recognise objects, shapes, sounds and trends. The two will focus on desktop handwriting and character recognition.
