IntelliNet Technologies has launched Azaire Wireless Services Gateway platform. The WSG product line is a result of the acquisition of Azaire Networks in June 2008.

IntelliNet has said that the Azaire Wireless Services Gateway (WSG) incorporates the 3GPP packet data gateway (PDG), tunnel terminating gateway (TTG), and security gateway functions, allowing subscribers to access mobile operator network services using dual-mode phones or laptops.

The WSG performs the role of a mobile service provider edge gateway that integrates with the 3GPP-compliant Azaire AAA server and the operator’s HLR/HSS for better subscriber management. In the TTG mode, the WSG connects to the mobile operators GGSN to deliver existing mobile operator services and in the PDG mode the WSG can connect to IMS or external IP networks for enhanced services.

The WSG also supports a range of IP broadband access technologies including UMA and femtocells to enable the delivery of a broad blend of FMC services.

Anjan Ghosal, president and CEO of IntelliNet Technologies, said: The WSG I-WLAN gateway has already been successfully deployed in a field trial with a major global wireless operator. We expect the use of I-WLAN technology to become more prevalent with the growth of 3G and 4G data services in the network.
