Whisky conglomerate Suntory Inc has teamed up with Intelligent Systems nothing to do with the Atlanta outfit, it’s a Mitsui & Co group software house – to write a package designed to help the unskilled – such as salesmen, says the distiller unkindly – in the use of personal computers and in extraction of data such as customer lists from big mainframes and their subsequent manipulation and use in a spreadsheet; called Marquet, the thing is based on Ramis 2 and can be accessed from any PC-DOS micro; it’s from $104,000.
