INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS TO WRITE SW PACKAGE FOR ERSATZ SCOTCH

By CBR Staff Writer

Ersatz Scotch is bad enough, but ersatz software? Whisky conglomerate Suntory Inc has teamed up with Intelligent Systems nothing to do with the Atlanta outfit, it’s a Mitsui & Co group software house – to write a package designed to help the unskilled – such as salesmen, says the distiller unkindly – in the use of personal computers and in extraction of data such as customer lists from big mainframes and their subsequent manipulation and use in a spreadsheet; called Marquet, the thing is based on Ramis 2 and can be accessed from any PC-DOS micro; it’s from $104,000.
