IntelePeer has entered into partnership with WorkSpace to deliver a hosted unified communications (UC) offering based on Microsoft Office Communications Server.

Through this initiative, IntelePeer combines its Quick Start SIP Trunking program, Voice Peering Network, and SuperRegistry with WorkSpace Communications’ patent-pending Microsoft OCS environment, which interoperates with any previously installed Microsoft Exchange implementation.

The companies said that this collaboration enable service providers to offer hosted UC, SIP trunking and on-demand communications services that can be deployed almost instantly, without requiring extensive changes to related applications.

Bryan DiGiorgio, chief executive officer for WorkSpace Communications, said: "Our hosted environment makes it much easier and cost effective for service providers to offer Microsoft OCS-based, unified communications services, enabling them to extend their revenue stream and quickly meet growing customer demand.

IntelePeer said that hosted SIP trunks are offered without requiring minimum commitments, eliminating up-front deployment risks and minimising capital expenditures and simplifies telecommunications by delivering carrier-quality service over public or private Internet Protocol (IP) connections.

Margaret Norton, general manager of enterprise for IntelePeer, said: "The IntelePeer Quick Start program is optimised for Microsoft OCS. We can turn around a hosted, Microsoft-certified SIP trunk as rapidly as five days, giving our partners and customers the agility they need for today’s dynamic market."
