The slugfest between Intel Corp and Advanced Micro Devices Inc continues with the latter delivering a winding blow with the news that US District Court Judge William Ingram has rejected a motion by Intel to reinstate a jury verdict concerning their copyright licence agreement: in April, Judge Ingram granted Advanced Micro’s motion for a new trial in the 80287 microcode case after finding that Intel had improperly withheld key documents that could have influenced the jury’s findings on the meaning of the licence agreement; he also denied Intel’s request for permission to appeal immediately his ruling in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal.
