INTEL “TO OFFER PENTIUM II FOR MERCED PACKAGING”

To ease upgrades to its 64-bit Merced chip, Intel Corp is set to offer a 32-bit Pentium II processor that will fit into the Merced package, according to CNet. It’s called Tanner, and the high- speed Pentium II will reportedly fit into a larger Merced package – slot M – rather than Pentium II’s Slot 2.
