According to Reuters, David Perlmutter, vice president of Intel’s mobile platforms group, said the company would increase its Bangalore headcount to 3,000 and spend $100m in India over the next three years.

The center will work with Intel’s Israel development center on its Centrino mobile technology. At the same time, it would work on Intel’s Xeon line. A common element to both lines is that they put a premium on lower power consumption.
