Intel Corp plans to cut Pentium prices by 14% to 18% in the second quarter of this year, and it looks for the chip to win 15% of the personal computer market by volume this year, as well as accounting for 25% of Intel’s chip volume: it shipped several hundred thousand Pentiums in 1993 and expects to ship millions this year; second quarter pricing for Pentiums will be $750 for 66MHz versions, and $675 for 60MHz, both off 14%, when you order 1,000 or more; the 66MHz 80486DX2 will be cut 18.2% to $360; the clock-tripled 80486DX3 is expected to come out this quarter.
