Intel Corp has decided to phase out the Pentium Pro because it is too expensive to make, and relegate it to a server twilight until an appropriate Pentium II cuts in. Pentium, meanwhile is to become a chip for notebooks – with ever faster clocks promised, because the new cartridge that houses the Pentium II is too big for a notebook.
