INTEL OPENS LAB AT INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE

Intel Corp opened a multimedia lab at the Indian Institute of Science, one of India’s leading research institute, in the southern city of Bangalore. This is its fifth lab in an academic institution in India. It has worked with two of India’s premier engineering colleges, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and IIT Delhi. The lab has 15 workstations with Pentium 2 processors and three servers. Besides using the lab for their college projects, the students will be encouraged to work on subjects of interest to Intel. The Institute of Science has companies like IBM Corp, Silicon Graphics Inc and Fujitsu encouraging research work at the institute.
