Intel Corp met Friday with the administrative law judge in the antitrust case filed by the Federal Trade Commission. The two sides got together to begin the discovery process in the case and set a trial date. Intel asked for a hearing date of February 18, the FTC requested December 7, and the judge actually ruled January 5 by way of compromise. The proceedings came ahead of Monday’s deadline for Intel to present its formal reply to the FTC’s complaint. The FTC explained that Friday’s meeting was more or less procedural and did not involve the introduction of any evidence, but rather discovery on what each side needs to procure in support of its case.
