Pacific Convergence Corp, the joint venture of Hong Kong Cyberport developer Pacific Century Group and Intel, is in talks with Asian cable television operators to cooperate on the provision of broadband internet services across the Asia-Pacific, according to Hong Kong press reports. PCC is to be injected into Cyberport listing vehicle Pacific Century Cyberport as part of Intel’s investment in the project.

The report claims that PCC plans to launch its broadband service across the region by the first quarter of next year, targeting a potential customer base of 110 million. It is also said to be in talks with two US-based satellite companies on setting up a satellite joint venture that would help develop the broadband internet venture.
