INTEL FREES UP PRODUCTION LINES FOR MORE PROFITABLE PENTIUMS

One of the reasons behind Intel Corp’s decision to go to the open market for static random access memory chips for the Pentium II is to free up its production lines for the more profitable Pentiums. It also makes something of a nonsense of rumors that the company was considering a bid for Cypress Semiconductor, which sent Cypress shares soaring recently.
