Intel will help carriers, regulators and government design and conduct WiMAX trials, which will test connectivity among key public and private sector groups.
The chipmaker expects to help start WiMAX trials in Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines by the end of the years, with trials in Indonesia and Vietnam slated for next year.
The company has been working with governments and service providers in the region since late 2004 on issues such as spectrum policy and trial deployment strategies.
