Intel Corp and the Federal Trade Commission have both issued a long list of witnesses that may be called during the antitrust trial beginning in Washington on March 9. Intel’s list includes its co-founder Andy Grove and expert witness Carl Shapiro, professor at the University of California at Berkeley, once chief economist for the Justice Department. Intel’s list includes 16 other Intel employees, four other expert witnesses, and eight representatives from other companies including IBM Corp, Integrated Device Technologies Inc, Motorola Inc, National Semiconductor Corp and Sun Microsystems Inc. On the FTC side, the list includes Robert Palmer, formerly chairman of Digital Equipment Corp; Advanced Micro Devices Inc’s co-chief operating officer Atiq Raza; James Meadlock chairman, and Wade Patterson, president, of Intergraph Corp; five expert witnesses and representative and former employees from Intel itself and from Compaq Computer Corp, Data General Corp, Micron Technology Inc, Motorola, and the electronics components distributor Rep Inc.
