INTEL AND MATELL PROMISE FIRST TOYS THIS FALL

By CBR Staff Writer

Intel Corp, which signed up with toy giant Matell Inc a year ago to collaborate on PC-to-toy connectivity (CI No 3,345), will see the first fruits of that collaboration exhibited at the American International Toy Festival in New York next week. The products, Intel Play X3 Microscope and Intel Play Me2Cam, will be available from Matell in the fall, for a retail price of $99 each. The Microscope product magnifies and displays objects on a PC screen by up to 300 times for viewing, enlarging and saving. Me2Cam is a digital video camera and CD-ROM software, which will come with a suite of games. Both will ship with software to help parents set up the system.
