INTEL 1Q TURNOVER WILL FALL SHORT OF FORECAST

By CBR Staff Writer

Intel Corp now warns that its first quarter turnover will fall short of the $700m it had been forecasting: the chipmaker said that soft demand for the 80386 could keep overall gross profit margin at around 40%, down from the high 40s recorded in the first three quarters of 1988; it looks for demand for the chip to pick up sharply again in April and remain strong for the rest of 1989.
