Intel has displayed its latest gesture-controlled laptops that will be rolled out later this year.

The company has displayed models of its ‘ultrabooks’ at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 press conference, which will be able to recognise gestures of the users and operate accordingly, also allowing users to create more content rather than just accessing it.

The ultrabook technology campaign is the biggest marketing effort since Intel’s 2003 campaign for Centrino wireless internet.

Intel Vice President Mooly Eden, unveiling the gadget, said people want their device to be nice, small, sleek and give them pride, and that Intel was working with its partners to reduce prices and boost screen sizes, adding more than 75 models will feature their touchless technology.

Nuance provides speech recognition technology to Intel, and the ultrabooks would not require a headset , but sill gives "great performance" said Peter Mahoney, chief marketing officer and general manager of Nuance’s Dragon software.

Another exclusive feature enables the swiping of credit card over ultrabooks to make a purchase, rather than having to type in details.
