Intel has unveiled a dual screen laptop concept with a second screen on the back of the lid, which is aimed at extending the usability of dedicated computers.

The second screen has black and white display, which is designed to be used in low power; allowing users to view content even when the laptop is in sleep mode or turned off, reported BBC.

Through a green button on the right, the content on the primary screen can be displayed on the secondary screen.

With the company’s connected standby feature, users will get updates when the laptop is in hibernation. The second screen can be used for checking important content.

The e-ink technology used for the second screen is usually found in e-Readers and some companies have adopted the technology for smartwatches, phones and other devices.

The concept is similar to Asus Taichi laptops that are powered by Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processor. It has an outer screen, which is a coloured full sized display.

Intel says that several manufacturers are building new laptops based on its dual screen concept.
