Intel Q4 revenue up 8% to $11.5bn

Expects revenue to be $11.5bn for the first quarter of 2011

Intel has reported a revenue of $11.5bn for the fourth quarter 2010, an increase of 8% compared to $10.6bn for the same quarter last year. Revenue was up 3% sequentially.

The company has posted an operating income of $4.3bn, up 16% compared to $3.7bn for the same quarter last year.

For the fourth quarter ended of 2010, the company posted net income of $3.4bn, an increase of 10% compared to $3.1bn for the same period a year ago.

PC client group revenue was flat, other Intel architecture group was flat. Intel Atom microprocessor and chipset revenue was flat at $391m while data centre group revenue was up 15%, all sequentially.

For 2010, the company posted a revenue of $43.6bn, up 24% compared to $35.1bn for the same period last year.

Operating income for the year was $15.9bn, an increase of 89% compared to $8.4bn for the same period last year.

Net income for full year 2010 was up 76% to $11.7bn from $6.6bn for the same period a year ago.

Looking ahead, the company anticipates revenue of $11.5bn, plus or minus $400m, and a gross margin of 64%, plus or minus a couple percentage points for the first quarter of 2011.

For full year 2011, the gross margin of the company is expected to be 65%, plus or minus a few percentage points.
