The new software, dubbed Intel Distribution for Apache Hadoop, is built for enhanced high performance and security.
The software includes Intel Manager for Apache Hadoop software and expands the company’s portfolio of datacentre computing, networking, storage and intelligent systems products.
According to the company, the software will provide complete encryption with support of Intel AES New Instructions in the Intel Xeon processor.
Intel Datacenter Software Division vice president and general manager, Boyd Davis, said: "People and machines are producing valuable information that could enrich our lives in so many ways, from pinpoint accuracy in predicting severe weather to developing customized treatments for terminal diseases."

Intel said it is working with partners to integrate the software into a number of next-generation platforms and applications.
Partners include Cisco, Cray, Dell, Hadapt, Infosys, SAP, SAS, Savvis, Red Hat and several other firms.
Red Hat said it plans to build applications using Intel Distribution integrated with Red Hat offerings such as Red Hat Storage Server 2.0 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
