INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS OFFERS SYSTEM V.3 AS OPTION, 4.3BSD AS STANDARD

By CBR Staff Writer

San Jose, California-based Integrated Solutions Inc is offering Unix 4.3BSD, with System V.3 as an optional extra, for its Optimum line of 68020-based workstations. The company claims that in its implementation of the two operating system strains, ISI 4.3BSD, all the features and functions of both have been maintained. Delivering both will, the company hopes, provide a wider user base for its machines. Separately Integrated Solutions has enhanced its proprietary real-time operating system, VxWorks, and renamed it UniWorks. VxWorks additionally incorporates CDBis, an on-line source debugger based on the CDB debugger from Third Eye Software of Palo Alto, California. As a result of a new agreement with Wind River Systems, Berkeley, California, Uniworks will be marketed by Wind River and Integrated Solutions on the Unix-based Optimum series, which uses the VMEbus and 68020 processor running at 16.7MHz in the Optimum V, and at 25MHz in the Optimum 400.
