Somewhere in the distance, there’s seven new people born sang Bob Dylan as the envoi of the Ballad of Hollis Brown: last week as Rodime Plc and PrairieTek Corp put their affairs in order preparatory to liquidation, Integral Systems Inc was preparing to announce its arrival on the world disk drive stage with its first product, a 1.8 disk drive storing 20Mb. The Boulder, Colorado start-up has a twin-platter 40Mb version of the drive on the stocks for the second quarter of next year. The Mustang 1820 sells for around $350 in OEM quantities and according to Electronic News, samples are in the hands of four potential notebook customers. Volume production is due to start in Singapore next quarter.
