Insyde Software, a provider of unified extensible firmware interface (UEFI) firmware, has introduced InsydeH2O UEFI BIOS support for HD Internet Technology from AMD.
The InsydeH2O is powered by AMD C-Series Accelerated Processing Units (APUs) and AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series Graphics.
The company said the new InsydeH2O features long battery life, low power consumption and improved graphics performance.
The new offering also delivers fast boot times, ranging between 5 and 6 seconds using Insyde’s patented BlinkBoot technology, and provides UEFI BIOS support.
Expected to be available for consumers in OEM systems in early 2011, the AMD Fusion APUs will be marketed to consumers as a part of VISION Technology from AMD.
AMD director of client and software product marketing John Taylor said the new AMD Fusion Family of APUs featuring HD Internet Technology represents a new era in computing performance for vivid HD video playback, and immersive gaming experiences on notebooks, netbooks and small form factor devices.
